Punctuate or insert special characters without clicking shift

Press spacebar twice to insert ‘.’
Can be disabled in Settings > Locale and Text > Device Keyboard > Auto-punctuate

Special characters like â, ê can be embedded by long pressing the key on the soft keyboard.

    You can also long-press on the slide-out keyboard. One thing I noticed is that the onscreen keyboard doesn’t show all the options. For example, if I press ‘e’ on the keyboard, I get 7 different variants. If I do the same on the onscreen one, I only get 4.
