Force stop Android Applications

Settings > Manage Applications> Menu button > Filter by “Running.” > Select application > Force stop

You could also try the Advanced Task Killer to manage running apps more easily.

Also, try Advanced Task Manager Lite from the Market. No need to go through all the settings mumbo jumbo. No ROOT required :)

I have a Droid Incredible and I just tried to use the advanced task killer and even after clicking on all the programs I wanted killed. They were still running. One I don’t even use so it has no reason for even running.

Mayur – the home button doesn’t show running tasks… it shows recent tasks.

but then we does this mean that whatever tasks we see by pressing and holding of home button, all of them might not be running???

for example if i just accessed gtalk, then went to access facebook..now i killed gtalk using task killer….still i will see gtalk in recent tasks??? is this behavior correct??

so we can see the current running tasks through -

settings -> applications -> manage applications -> menu -> filter -> running taks

    m i right???

I also use AVK. Certain apps continue to refresh themselves, but luckily AVK has an option to force stop any apps so that they don’t open again until you use them. If you would rather not force stop apps then try restarting your phone after heavy usage.

    Hi,
I’m using HTC Wildfire, whenever I’m connecting to Wi-Fi or Mobile Network or both are disabled. Most of the application had communicating to the internet or running automatically. So I tried to use Advance Task Killer (ATK). Whenever I select KILL Selected apps in ATK it close the selected application but after a second it show me the same application which I closed before.
In a single selection I need to stop running all the applications. Please advise me.
Below is the list of application running by itself:
    Maps, TuneIn Radio.

all you guys look here.don’t use any task killer.when you kill some task,it uses internet and drains battery.and after sometime all the application restart again.so on restarting again it consumes battery.
