Share your location with the world, oh you can shout out too

  • Open Google Latitude in the Maps app.
  • Find and add friends to Latitude using your address book.
  • Enable location badge here.
  • ThenĀ  edit your google profile here. Check “Display my Latitude location”.
  • You can shout

Experience Android screen transitions

Enable: Settings > Sound and Display > Display settings > Animation
This is disabled by default.

Copy text in the Android Browser

Menu > Select text option.
Click and scroll to select the text you want to copy.

There’s another way too.
Hold down the Shift key and use the trackball to select text on page.
Click the trackball…

Don’t miss calls because your are in a dead zone

Use No Signal Alert to get alerted if theres no signal on your phone. You can set custom colors on the LED too.

Use barcode scanner from your android web browser

Go to http://products.google.com.

It will get you to install Barcode scanner and let you use it to scan for products and search for them.

Insert words automatically while you type

Enable: Settings > Locale and Text > Android Keyboard > Autocomplete
Spacebar inserts highlighted word.

Create reusable text snippets

Add the text snippet to the user dictionary.
Settings > Locale and Text > User Dictionary
Enable Auto-complete in Android keyboard settings.
Put your name in first.

Unlock phone in the dark

Enable: Settings > Security and Location > Use tactile feedback
The phone will now vibrate a little when the pattern dots are touched, so you can unlock the phone in the dark.

Listen podcasts on your bluetooth enabled car

Long tap the paired bluetooth device and select options. Select media.
Android now supports stereo bluetooth too. Use Google Listen to get audio you like.

Multitask your internet browsing

Enable “Open in background” setting and browse webpages after they finish loading in the background.
